Tarzan Marine Enterprise Nigeria Limited, Lagos has dragged its staff, Adebolu Folusho Gideon, 33, and two others before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court for allegedly conniving to steal properties valued at N11,800,000 and escaping.

Others charged separately for allegedly receiving the stolen properties from Gideon were Zakariyah Abdulateef, 39, and Mohammed Sani Wada, 52.

The defendants were arrested by the Police at the Zone 2 Command, Lagos and charged before the Tinubu Magistrate’s Court with three counts of stealing and receiving stolen properties.

Police Prosecuting Counsel, ASP Jimoh Joseph informed the Court in the charges marked Q/8/2022 and Q/10/2022 that the defendants committed the offence on 21 and 22 December 2021 at 6/6a Foreshore Road, Opposite Oniru Estate, Lekki, Lagos.

Joseph told the Court that Adebolu Gideon used his position as a staff of the Complainant to steal properties valued at N11,800,000 and sold them to the two others defendants and escaped before they were tracked and arrested.

Joseph said that Gideon stole two Yamaha boat gears valued at N1,800,000, a 200hp boat Yamaha engine valued at N7,000,000 and ten angular iron bars valued at N3,000,000 and sold them to the other defendants at 34, Folawo Street, Orile, Lagos.

Joseph said the offences, the defendants committed were punishable under sections 411, 287 and 328 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges and Magistrate, O.S Abioye granted them N300,000 bail each with two sureties each in like sum and adjourned the case.
