Popular social commentator, and digital marketing expert, Mayowa Adenekan has lambasted Nigerian celebrities for using ailing Nollywood actress Kemi Afolabi-Adesipe’s latest revelation about her health condition to chase clout on social media.

The filmmaker had earlier revealed that she has been diagnosed with lupus, a disease that causes one’s immune system to attack one’s tissues and internal organs.

According to the actress in recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, she revealed that her doctors had told her she has five years to live, out of which one year has passed.

She said, “The doctor told me to make sure I spend time with my loved ones because I have about five years left (to live).”

In tears, she continued, “I have lupus and it is not curable. One has to be on medication for the rest of one’s life. ‘Biology’ is about N1.2m but it was not working out. I was in pains (broke down in tears again).

Her shocking revelation has elicited various reactions from both fans and her colleagues.

Kemi Afolabi has been consistent in celebrating her friends and colleagues on social media page, and putting up her previous works to the admiration of her fans.

In her last post as of the time of filing this report, she prayed to Allah to “open the doors of everything good to us, doors of peace and security, health, riches and sustenance.”

Her colleagues and fans have also been offering her words of encouragement

An actress, Bimbo Afolayan, wrote, “I will never weep over you, Insha Allah. You will live long and you will be healthy by God’s grace.”

Reacting to the development, popular social commentator and talent manager, Adenekan opined that Nollywood practitioners should desist from using Adesipe’s condition to chase clout.

“Nigerian celebrities you need to stop this eye service thing by posting Kemi Afolabi’s picture. She is sick but still alive,” he tweeted.

”If you need to show her love, send her money pay her a visit. Spend time with her or better still call her and make her. Stop the social media pretense,” he added.
