The Bauchi Road Traffic Agency (BAROTA) has begun the recruitment process of 250 traffic wardens and officers to enhance safety on the roads in the state.
BAROTA’s Spokesman, Malam Dahiru Adamu, stated this in an interview with NAN, on Monday in Bauchi.
He said the agency had inaugurated a recruitment portal to enable interested applicants to apply, adding that the agency had so far received hundreds of applications.
Dahiru said the agency would recruit 200 school leavers, 30 degrees and Higher National Diploma (HND) holders, and 20 holders of the Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) and National Diploma (ND).
“Our recruitment will be based on merit as standards will not be compromised,” he said.
According to him, successful candidates will be subjected to medical and character assessments to determine their qualifications and suitability for the job.
He said the wardens would be engaged in traffic control on roads in urban areas to check indiscriminate violations of traffic rules and other sundry offences.
