Former presidential candidate, Peoples Coalition Party (PCP), in the 2019 presidential election, Dr. Nicolas Felix has declared his intention to vie for the presidency in 2023.

In 2019, Felix came third in the presidential election after President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, polling 110,196 votes.

Felix, based in US, is the General Overseer and Founder of Miracle Center International Inc. International Headquarters, New York, USA with branches in New Jersey, Texas Atlanta and in West Africa (Nigeria).

At a media parley with newsmen in Ikeja, Lagos on Tuesday, Felix said his dream was to take over the helms of affairs in Nigeria and make a change.

He said he had companies in US and Nigeria and had hired thousands of people and that he is quite comfortable by every standard.

Felix lamented that Nigerian leaders, despite the changes they see outside whenever they travelled never thought of replicating same in the country, adding that they took pleasure in sending their children to school abroad while impoverishing the nation.

The presidential aspirant disclosed that his number one agenda if elected president was the protection of the citizens’ lives and properties.

He lamented that security is currently in a mess in Nigeria and that the amount of security a nation has would determine its prosperity.

“There are so many things the nation is supposed to give us in terms of security that they are not giving us. Nigeria can behave if the system is in place,” he said.

Felix stated that over there in the US and other places, people would not just break traffic signals as there are consequences, but decried that the situation was different in Nigeria because there is no system in place.

“The number one issue I will tackle is security. If we don’t fix security in Nigeria, we will go broke. Until Nigeria is safe, you will never see economic growth,” he stated.

To fix security, Felix said the police and other security apparatus  must be well equipped as being done in the US and other places.

He decried that the Nigeria Police Force is grossly unequipped, as they operated with outdated equipment with poor remuneration which informed reason for non-performance.

Felix further said Nigeria needed the leadership of the youths to move forward.

“We have been clamouring that we need a youth to lead this nation. In the 80s, Nigeria was a little better. Nigeria needs a youth. I believe in a system that works,” he said.

On which political party he wants to actualise his ambition, Felix said he would make it known on April 25 when he would officially made known his intention to Nigerians.
