Mr Dipo Olorunrinu, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said he will support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential bid.

He made the declaration on Sunday, adding that the outcome of Saturday’s APC national convention is a good omen for the nation.

“The message from the outcome of our national convention is that of hope and future for the party. We must continue to do the right thing in a sustainable way and respect stakeholders’ feelings.

“I think we are good to move on into the 2023 general elections to win.

“I congratulate all the new National Working Committee (NWC) members and wish them the wisdom to pilot the affairs of the party to greatness.

“Our new national officers must shun every action capable of opening wounds healed through the interventions of President Muhammadu Buhari, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other leaders to arrive at the consensus,’’ he said.

Olorunrinu said that the consensus arrangement for the emergence of members of the party’s NWC was commendable.

According to him, the consensus arrangement was commendable because there was harmonisation, consultation, understanding and respect for individuals’ feelings.

On Tinubu’s presidential ambition at the 2023 general elections, he urged the party’s leadership to honour the former governor of Lagos State and present him as the consensus presidential candidate of the APC.

Olorunrinu said that such consensus if well discussed would save the ruling APC unforeseen issues that might arise after the primary election.

The former lawmaker noted that no other presidential aspirant within the party had the followership and experience to win the election for the party in 2023.

He said that Tinubu, having served the party and contributed immensely to its creation and victory at the 2015 and 2019 elections, deserved to be honoured as a presidential consensus candidate.
