Osinbajo visits victims of the Abuja- Kaduna train attack

The Kaduna State Government said 398 passengers bought tickets for the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna train on Monday, but 362 of these passengers were validated as having boarded the train through the gate.

This is contrary to reports that over 900 persons boarded the train on Monday.

Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, made the clarification in a statement on Wednesday.

He also released the passenger manifest.

Aruwan said eight bodies have been recovered, while 26 were injured.

The attack occurred on Monday night at the Dutse village in Chikun Local Government Area.

Many passengers are still unaccounted for as search operations were said to be ongoing.

The state government appealed to the public to assist with information regarding passengers on the train by contacting the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency on the phone line 09088923398,

Amongst those injured is the former Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Ibrahim Wakkala who is also receiving treatment in one of the hospitals the governor visited.

Among the people missing is passenger No. 43, Alwan Ali Hassan, the CEO of Bank of Agriculture.
