Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission (KTSIEC) said it has engaged over 10,000 ad-hoc staff for the conduct of the April 11 local government elections in the state.

Alhaji Ibrahim Bako, the KTSIEC Chairman, disclosed this during the distribution of sensitive and non-sensitive materials on Sunday in Katsina.

According to Bako, all security arrangements have been put in place to make the exercise free, fair and credible.

He added that early distribution would enable the materials to reach the areas early so that the conduct of the elections would commence at the appropriate time.
