The meeting, which began at 10 am on Monday, took place at the Kebbi House on Plot 70, Kur Mohammed Way, Off Ahmadu Bello Way, Central Business District, Abuja.
At the end of the meeting which was attended by 12 APC governors, Tinubu said he unfurled his agenda to the governors and stated his mission if elected as president.
“The meeting went well,” he said
Asked about VP Yemi Osinbajo’s declaration for the presidential race, Tinubu said:
“I don’t have any son grown up enough to make such declaration,” Tinubu replied when asked about Osinbajo’s declaration.
“My mission here is to seek collaboration, support, and encouragement of my party, the APC, for my ambition to become the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as a replacement for President Muhammadu Buhari after his tenure,” he said.
The meeting came a few hours after the declaration of interest in the 2023 presidency by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who met with the APC governors on Sunday.
Mr. Tosin Adeyanju, Head of Media for Tinubu Support Group, who spoke with PM News said the meeting had been planned before today.
Tinubu had met Governor Atiku Bagudu, chair of the APC Governors Forum in Abuja last week.
Adeyannju said: “The meeting has been planned before today. It is part of the ongoing consultation by Asiwaju.”
