Governorship aspirants on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers have agreed to work together and support whoever among them ultimately emerges as candidate of the party by consensus or election to emerge as the chief executive of the state in 2023.

In deference to party supremacy, the aspirants pledged that as soon as any of them emerged as the candidate of the party, they will all put their their ego aside and collapse their campaign structures for him for mobilization of support to ensure the victory of the flag bearer.

These resolutions were contained in a communique signed and issued on Monday by 10 governorship aspirants of Rivers APC at a meeting facilitated by a former Commissioner for Transport in the state, Hon. George Tolufari with the active support of the state party leadership.

However, the aspirants asked the party leadership to ensure that there is a level playing field to create a sense of belonging, fairness and equity to all during the party primary.

The aspirants also called on Rivers people to get the Permanent Voters Cards PVCS ready to vote for APC candidates during the general elections.

They also agreed to consult with stakeholders, opinion leaders, elder statesmen and politicians to support the clamour for zoning of the governorship ticket of the party to the riverine- Ijaw communities of the state to ensure equity and fairness.

They also pledged their unalloyed support for President Mohammadu Buhari and Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation and commend him for his courage to declare his intention to contest for the office of President.

The Progressives Aspirants Forum also called on all genuine members of Rivers APC to seek genuine reconciliation,peace and progress of the party and for the party to win the Governorship seat, National Assembly seats and the office of President.

Our Correspondent reports that the governorship aspirants in attendance at the meeting includes: Dr Sokonte Davies,Dr Dakuku Adol Peterside, Dr Dawari George, Architect Tonye Cole, Prince Tonye T. J.T.Princewill.

Others were Engr. Biokpomabo Awara,Chief (Rev) Francis Ebenezer Ada, Mena Tende, Chief Ojukaye Flag Amachree and Ibinabo Michael West.
