Mr Kingsley Fanwo, Kogi Commissioner for Information has said there was a deliberate propaganda to bring down the state government through negative reporting in spite of Governor Yahaya Bello developmental strides.

Fanwo said this on Tuesday in Abuja while speaking with newsmen on the state and the 2023 presidential aspiration of Gov. Yahaya Bello of the state.

According to him, Gov. Bello is performing wonders in the state by unifying the people while ensuring their security and the development of the state.

He said it was, however, unfortunate that the state is under reported in spite of the achievements being recorded.

Speaking on the 2023 presidential election, Fanwo said the country needs a leader like Gov. Bello who would bridge the gap between the people and ensure the unity of all Nigerians.

He charged the media to take the lead in the 2023 general elections by shaping the campaign narratives.

He added that the 2023 general elections should be about capacity not tribal or religion sentiments, saying that the best man should be elected as the country`s next president.

“The country at this moment needs a man that can marshal out a security architecture that will ensure the security of lives and property as Bello has done in Kogi,’’ he said.

On Bello`s recent presidential declaration, Fanwo said he had to declare in Abuja as the country`s capital because his ambition is to be Nigeria`s president not Kogi president.

He debunked insinuations making the rounds that the event was graced by rented crowd.

“Gov. Bello is naturally a crowd puller, we don`t need to waste the state`s resources to hire crowd because we want to impress the public,’’ he said. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
