Anambra Police Command’s spokesman, Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident, said the Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, led a team of police officers to the area to restore normalcy.
Ikenga told Premium Times that four policemen lost their lives during the gun-battle with the gunmen.
According to him, the police acted promptly to salvage the facility.
On 7 April, 2022, gunmen attacked the Aguata Local Government Area headquarters, Anambra State, where Governor Charles Soludo hails from.
The council headquarters was set on fire during the attack.
