In Thursday’s proceedings, a motion was submitted by the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) asking for the confirmation of Fabakary Tombong Jatta and Seedy Njie as the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the house respectively and there was no objection.

“My first priority as the Speaker of the House is to unify the partisan parliamentarians to recognize that politics is over and it is time to look and serve the supreme interest of The Gambia,” says Jatta.
