Why I dumped APC: Ex-minister Dalung

Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung has announced the withdrawal of his membership from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dalung said he left the APC because recent developments in the party does not tally with his principles.

The former minister submitted letter of his withdrawal from the party to the Ward Chairman of APC in SabonGida Ward, Langtang South LGA of Plateau State.

The letter which was dated April 1, 2022, and signed by Dalung on April 18, 2022, was made available to newsmen in Jos on Tuesday.

The letter reads in part, “This is to convey my withdrawal of membership from the All Progressives Congress with effect from the date of this notice.

“It is worthy of mention that recent developments in the party conflict with my core principles of values which define the basis of allegiance to the party.

“Of note is the fact that internal democracy is critical to the survival of representative democracy without which political participation remains a mirage.”

Dalung recently slammed President Muhammadu Buhari for failing Nigerians and disappointing many, including him with his inability to tackle growing the insecurity in the country.

The former minister in a recent post on his Facebook page lamented that the President is sharing power with Northwest bandit leader, Bello Turji and ISWAP terrorists with his failure to tackle insecurity.
