Taraba state has recorded another bombing incident, three days after members of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) claimed responsibility for a bombing attack on a bar.

The latest bombing occurred on Friday night, with nine people reportedly injured.

The explosion occurred at Nukkai area, in the suburb of Jalinngo, the capital.

The site shares boundary with Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of the state, where the first incident occurred at Iware ward.

The bomb left cracks on the walls of buildings within the site.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the explosion happened when the entire town was in a blackout due to power outage.

Mr Hassan Danzumi, a witness close to the area, said that several people were injured, but no life was lost.

Details are still sketchy, reports Daily Trust.

ISWAP had claimed responsibility for the first attack, saying it targeted infidels.

The terror group said the explosion killed or injured 30 people at a market where alcohol was sold.

Spokesman of Taraba police command, DSP Abdullahi Usman, confirmed the latest incident.

He confirmed that nine people sustained injuries.
