Adewale Enikuemehin James popularly known as Wale Visuals has come a long way to establish himself as one of the top creative visual artists, photographers and videographers in the visual effects business in Nigeria, creating special moments through his lenses, while combining his creative acumen with technology.
Speaking about his craft, Wale said, “Photography is the combination of art and science. Taking a good picture is art, and the means ( camera ) is the science. A creative artist has the ability to invent and develop original ideas, especially in the arts.
“I am on a journey to discovery and expression with my photography skills. Professionally, I started in 2015 when I got my first camera but I wasn’t doing photography as a full time job. The journey has been full of ups and downs, but I am enjoying every bit of it, and I am fulfilled being a photographer, most importantly, I am able to express myself with photography.”
Wale Visuals said he is more than just a photographer that simply takes pictures. He is a visual artist that creates works of art using a variety of materials. As a visual artist, his duties may be to draw images, work with paint, develop murals, design in 3D, or create art with mixed media.
“Visual creativity is thought to consist of the following elements: originality, sensitivity, a special talent, as well as deeper dynamism of human personality, such as sublimation, reparative-compensating mechanisms and mentalization.
“Artists develop creativity from experiences. The more experiences you have, both as an artist and as a human, the more ideas will flow towards your artwork. In order to generate new ideas, you also need to spend time investigating the experiences you do have,” the CEO of Wale Visuals asserted.
Wale and his contemporaries have brought a new narrative to photography, in essence, endearing the profession to many. Even the fortunes of many photographers have changed, as reflected in their status and their pride of place in the society.
In Wale’s view, “Over the years everything has evolved and this applies to every profession. One thing I can say is that the need for photographs has increased and this has helped create more opportunities for photographers. Talk about birthday celebrations, wedding receptions , and many more , people want to keep these memories , tech and also social media also plays a huge role in the growth of photography.”
“With social media it’s easier to reach a larger audience about your product, and it has really helped my photography business,” he added.
Wale Visuals is an Ilaje man from Ondo State. He was born on the 10th of Oct 1993. He is the CEO of WALE VISUALS Studio situated in Lekki Lagos.
He is a Bachelor’s of Science graduate from Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, with a degree in Economics/ Mathematics.
