Oral Robert University based in Tulsa Oklahoma in the United States has honoured Pastor Enoch Adeboye with a doctor of divinity.
The doctorate was awarded at a crowded ceremony on Saturday, even though Adeboye was unavoidably absent to receive the award personally.
Adeboye posted news about the award on Sunday on Facebook and Instagram.
He wrote: I recall that day in 1979, when I accompanied my father, Pa Josiah Akindayomi to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to attend Kenneth Hagin’s Camp Meeting; and, how the power of God moved mightily.
“If anyone had told me then that I would be awarded an honorary degree from one of the most prestigious universities there, Oral Roberts University @oralrobertsu, I would have said the person was joking. But, looking back and seeing what God has done so far, I can’t but just say, Thank You, Jesus!
“Extending my sincere appreciation to the leadership of the University. God bless you all”.

Oral Roberts University (ORU) is a private evangelical university. It was founded in 1963 by evangelist Oral Roberts.
The university offers over 70 undergraduate degree programs along with 20 graduate programs across six colleges.
Most popular majors include ministry and leadership, nursing, engineering, psychology, and business administration.
The university enrols approximately 4,000 students
