Gunmen kill 5 passengers, abduct 20 others in Plateau

Gunmen have reportedly killed five passengers, including a vigilante member travelling along Sabon Gari-Kampani Road, Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Also, twenty passengers were kidnapped during a false stop-and-search by the gunmen.

A source who is a resident of Wase town, who sought anonymity, explained that a vigilante member and one other person were ambushed.

According to the source, the two persons were on a motorcycle going from Sabon-Gari to Kampani when the bandits attacked, killed them and went away with their motorcycle.

“Later, when the villagers were returning after market hours, they were stopped and kidnapped. Three of them were killed” he added.

As of the time, this report was filed, the Plateau Police Command is yet to make official confirmation of the incident.
