Oshiomhole returns to presidential race, announces declaration day

Former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole has again announced his intention to join the long list of presidential aspirants on the platform of the ruling party.

Oshiomhole who announced his intention to join the presidential aspirants in the morning of Friday, 29 April, later same day cancelled the formal declaration.

He is back in the race again, P.M. News can confirm, as he set his declaration day for Wednesday 4 May in Abuja.

Media aide to the former two-time Governor of Edo State, Victor Oshioke, has issued a new statement, confirming Oshiomhole’s declaration.

The event is billed for Cyprian Ekwensi Center for Arts and Culture, Area 10, Abuja, by 3 pm.

Oshioke in a statement said: The formal declaration of Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole to contest for the office of President, Federal Republic of Nigeria in the 2023 general election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress which was postponed has now been rescheduled, after extensive consultations.

“Your presence will be highly appreciated.

“We apologise for the short notice and hope that your love for Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole will motivate you to attend, irrespective of any unforeseen constraints,” Oshioke added said.

The fresh confirmation came amid speculations that Oshiomhole was more interested in the Edo North senatorial race than the presidency.

Oshiomhole’s spokesman, Victor Oshioke, did not confirm this.

When he responded, it was with another statement about Oshiomhole gunning for the presidency.
