A governorship aspirant in Rivers, Senator Magnus Abe, said said among all contenders for the presidential ticket of the ruling Congress, APC, only former governor of Lagos Bola Tinubu has the capacity to ensure continuance of the party in power beyond 2023.

Abe made the declaration on Thursday at the Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Port Harcourt, while addressing APC members during a consultation visit to stakeholders in Port Harcourt City and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas of the State.

Abe also promised to serve all the people of Rivers State people if he is voted in as as governor of Rivers State in 2023.

He said the government will be a government of Rivers State that will serve all Rivers people irrespective of tribes, religion or political affiliation.

Abe said: “We shall form a government that will do what is right. A government that those who will serve in the government will serve you first before serving themselves.

“I came here today to remind you that I am one of you, I’m part of you. I have always been with you and will always be with you. When it is good or bad, I have always been there and will still be there. We need one another to succeed”.

“I have told you people that I am supporting Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and the reason I am supporting him is simple. I have looked at all those who want to run and I have looked at all those who claimed they have done this or that.

“And I saw that Asiwaju is the person in the APC that can deliver the killer-punch that will keep the party in power after Buhari. That is why I followed him.”

The APC governorship hopeful advised members of the party in the state against choosing the wrong governorship candidate, in order not to regret for another eight years.
