An APC presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on Wednesday submitted his presidential form, having secured the endorsement of over 370 delegates required by the party.
His nomination and expression of interest forms were submitted on his behalf by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos; James Faleke, a lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and former EFCC Chairman, Nuhu Ribadu.
Tinubu is the first to submit his form after meeting the needed requirement. It was gathered that 570 delegates endorsed the former governor’s form.
The APC had ordered that the condition for submission of forms was for 10 delegates from each of the 36 States and Abuja to endorse the aspirant.
Tinubu declared his interest for the presidency in January after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari to inform him of his decision.
The former governor of Lagos has toured several states consulting with stakeholders to garner support for his ambition.
He is one of the biggest aspirants in the APC fold. No fewer than 28 aspirants are gunning for the APC’s presidential ticket.
