Former Senate President and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential hopeful, Dr. Bukola Saraki has described himself as a bridge of unity needed to connect the different strata of society.

He urged delegates to vote for him, vowing to deploy technology against insecurity once he is elected.

Saraki, also a former Governor of Kwara State, made this known in Lokoja, Kogi State capital on Sunday, at a meeting with the 98 PDP delegates from the State.

“Being in Kogi is like being at home. I am yours and you are mine. That is what our forefathers left for us.

“There is a bond between kogi and Kwara. I’m a bridge between the North and the South, young and old, and between Christians and Muslims. What our country needs now is unity and I have done excellently well on this in my previous national assignments.

“I am aspiring as the next president of Nigeria. Together I believe we can make Nigeria work. Today we are so close to history to produce a Nigerian President from Northcentral,” he said.

Saraki said he has the capacity and the courage to take important decisions that would lead the economy out of the woods.

He promised to reawaken the Ajaokuta Steel Company and harness the vast possibilities in agriculture and solid mineral subsectors. He brandished his records in public service.

“As a former chairman, Governors forum, and president of the Senate in my second lap at the senate, I have been tested and excelled in both capacities. I can therefore be trusted to manage the affairs of this country because, I always leave any office I occupied better than I met it.

“Having spent some years in high echelon of governance with distinction, I am aware of the challenges facing the country; which made me more prepared among my competitors to preside over the affairs of the nation at this critical time of our nationhood,” he said.
