It was a grand celebration today at Akure, the Ondo State capital where the Director of Special Programmes, Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) Dr Jide Johnson had his wedding.

The storming of the ceremony by New Nigeria People’s Party, (NNPP) presidential aspirant, Olufemi Ajadi, and his entourage added colour to the event.

Ajadi told journalists on the sidelines that he decided to grace the event to give honour to whom it was due.

He reiterated that Johnson’s regime as deputy provost in the school was remarkable and that his friendly disposition was the reason past and present students of NIJ including a past provost of the school, Mr Gbemiga Ogunleye, could grace the wedding.

Mentioning Johnson’s style of teaching as worthy of commendation, he added that his understanding of journalism was the reason some popularly called him ‘Olukoni’ -the teacher.

“When J.J talks, he expresses himself in wisdom and knowledge. So, he is revered in journalism.”
