Breaking: APC postpones presidential primary screening

The All Progressives Congress has postponed the screening of its presidential aspirants, initially scheduled for Monday 23 May.

Barrister Felix Mork, the national publicity said a new date will be announced shortly.

He did not give any reason for the postponement.

The party was expected to screen 25 aspirants, although it is believed that some may not show up for the exercise.

Among the candidates expected to be screened are the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, ex-ministers Rotimi Amaechi, Godswill Akpabio and Ogbonnaya Onu.

Former governors Rochas Okorocha and Ibikunle Amosun, Pastor Tunde Bakare and Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, are also billed for screening.

Others in the contest are Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; former Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, Kogi State

The rest are Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello, Jigawa State Governor, Mohammed Badaru, former Zamfara State Governor, Ahmed Yerima, Senator Ajayi Boroffice, Uju Ohnenye, Nicholas Nwagbo.

There are also former House of Representatives Speaker, Dimeji Bankole, former Minister of Information, Ikeobasi Mokelu and businessman Tein Jack-Rich.
