Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has won a second term ticket to represent the All Progressives Congress (APC) in next year’s governorship election in Lagos.
The governor was declared winner of the governorship primary election held at the Onikan Stadium on Thursday by Adamu Shetima Yuguda, Chairman, Lagos State Primary Election Committee.
Sanwo-Olu polled a total of 1,170 votes out of a total of 1,198 accredited voters from across the State.
The governor defeated two other contestants, Wale Oluwo and Abdulahmed Olorunfemi Mustapha.
The stadium erupted in shout of joy the moment the governor was declared winner of the primary election.
The other two contestants, Oluwo and Mustapha were not present at the stadium during the election. It was a one way affair, as all the delegates voted for Sanwo-Olu.
Reacting to his victory, Sanwo-Olu thanked all delegates and party members for deeming him worthy, describing his victory as an affirmation of the confidence reposed in him.
Promising not to let them and the entire residents of Lagos down, the governor assured that he would continue the good work his administration had been doing in the State and do a lot more, by taking the State to greater heights.
