The Mobolaji Johnson Arena, formerly known as Onikan Stadium is agog in readiness for the Lagos APC governorship primary election.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is seeking a second term ticket on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He is being challenged by former Lagos Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Wale Oluwo and a former Permanent Secretary in the same ministry, Mr Abdul-Ahmed Olorunfemi Mustapha.

A part of the Onikan Stadium is already filled as delegates await the kick-off of the primary election to determine who flies the banner of the APC in next year’s governorship poll.

Related News

A total of 1,225 delegates will vote at the primary election. The delegates are drawn from the 245 wards, with five delegates per ward, using the 20 Local Governments.

Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Kadri Hamzat have already arrived the venue of the primary, while the other two aspirants are still being awaited.

The Lagos APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi has arrived with officials of the party from Abuja in readiness for the primary to kick-off.
