Colombian singer Shakira and Barcelona defender Gerard Pique have confirmed that they are bringing an end to their 12-year relationship.
They both released a joint statement that reads;
“We regret to confirm that we are separating.
“For the well-being of our children, who are our top priority, we are asking for respect for their privacy.
“Thank you for your understanding.”
The statement was released today after days of reports about Pique’s recent infidelity.
The Colombian singer and the Barcelona defender have two children together and have decided to part ways peacefully.
Back story
Pique and Shakira started dating after meeting at the 2010 World Cup, but they never actually got married. They have been together all this time and the Colombian singer moved to Barcelona to start a family with the footballer. They have two children, Milan and Sasha.
