Voting has begun at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential primary to choose the party’s candidate in next year’s presidential election.
Voting began at exactly 1:30am starting with Abia State delegates.
No fewer than 2,322 delegates from the 774 local government areas of the country are expected to vote at the APC presidential primary.
The voting exercise began after each of the over 20 aspirants delivered their speeches, with President Muhammadu Buhari advising the contestants to abide by the rule and embrace sportsmanship spirit.
About seven presidential aspirants have stepped down for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and one for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
The aspirants who stepped down for Tinubu are: Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Dimeji Bankole, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru, Mrs. Uju Ohanenye, Senator Robert Ajayi Boroffice and Godswill Akpabio.
Only Dr. Nicholas Felix stepped down for Osinbajo.
At least, 14 presidential aspirants are still in the race and one of them will emerge winner today.
