Alex Iwobi equalised for Nigeria

The Super Eagles of Nigeria began their African Cup of Nations’ (AFCON) qualifier on Thursday with a 2-1 victory over fierce opponent, the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone.

At the game played behind closed doors at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, the Leone Stars were a thorn in the flesh of the Super Eagles as they dominated play at the early stage of the match.

Sierra Leone were in front on 11 minutes, with a super goal from Morsay J. He got the ball into the net with superb header.

The visitors’ goal woke up the lackluster Super Eagles as they pressed for the equaliser.

Alex Iwobi got the deserved equaliser five minutes later from a well struck goal.
