The Zamfara House of Assembly has condoled with Gov. Bello Matawalle, the Kwararkwashi Emirate, and Bungudu Local Government Area over the death of the Emir of Kwararkwashi, Alhaji Ahmad Umar.

This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau on Friday by the Public Relations Officer of the assembly, Malam Nasiru Biyabiki.

The late emir, popularly known as Ahmad Mai-Kwatarkwashi, was the long-serving traditional ruler in the state.

The Emir died at the age of 96 – 61 years after he mounted the throne.

“The Speaker, Alhaji Nasiru Magarya, on behalf of the entire members of the House of Assembly prayed to the Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Aljannatul Firdausi.

“The state will continue to remember his leadership ideals of justice and fairness as he left a legacy worthy of emulation”, Biyabiki explained.

He beseeched Allah to grant his family and all his subjects the fortitude to bear the loss.
