To help people make money from social media platforms they would otherwise browse for leisure, the fifth edition of ‘Periscope’, an exclusive business seminar and exhibition organised by Christ Apostolic Church, Victory Land, GRA, Ikeja for entrepreneurs, professionals, artisans, job seekers, students and young school leavers, will focus on improving digital skills.

The seminar, the first of 2022, is themed ‘Maximising Business Opportunities in Today’s Digital World’ and will hold on Saturday, June 18 at 9 am at the church premises, 20 Joel Ogunnaike Street, GRA, Ikeja.

Two facilitators, Dr Successful Sanmi and Pastor Isaac Dunmoye will take participants through practical sessions on making money from social media platforms instead of just staying connected with their family and friends at the session.

The first facilitator, Dr Sanmi, is a leading financial and business building strategist. He is the Chief Executive Officer of SET Group Africa and Chair, SET Homes Limited. Pastor Dunmoye is an accredited trainer certified by the Centre for Management Development (CMD).

“It’s a digital age, and we can’t afford to be left behind. We all use the available social media platforms, but what are people doing with them? They can use these platforms to grow their businesses and make more profit instead of just wasting data and time on harmful browsing activities. This was what informed our decision to focus on this area for the fifth edition of ‘Periscope’. We have two thorough professionals who will break it down for us,” Zonal Superintendent, Victory Calvary Zonal headquarters, Pastor Israel Ajanaku, explained.

Also commenting, Associate Pastor, Dr Joseph Minari said, “unknown to some people, social media is also a good platform to grow their business and make tidy profits. There is nothing people don’t sell on social media nowadays. Food, clothes, personal accessories, household items, you name it.

“Happily, some people know this and are already taking advantage. Some, however, don’t, so this edition will further educate those already using the platforms. In contrast, those who don’t can start once they know. The event is open to everyone and is in continuation of efforts to empower both our members and non-members of the church economically.”

The Assembly’s Curate Pastor, John Omitinde, disclosed that grants would be given to the five best business proposals to assist participants further and succeed in ‘Periscope’s goals of helping people exit poverty.

Apart from the main session with the facilitators, there would also be an exhibition of products, services, advisory services, breakout and a health talk.
