The Rivers state Police Command has paraded an 18 year old leader of kidnap gang, Ubong Emmanuel and his accomplices over the abduction and murder of one David Onyems.

Onyems was buried in a shallow grave after he was murdered by members of the gang, Rivers Police Commissioner, CP Friday Eboka said while briefing journalists in Port Harcourt, the state capital on Wednesday.

CP Eboka said Ubong confessed that his gang members kidnapped Onyems between Abia and Rivers State boundary and buried him in shallow grave.

He added that the suspects led the Police to a shallow grave where the victim was buried after they were arrested.

The Rivers State Police Commissioner revealed further that the body of the victim has been exhumed and deposited at the mortuary awaiting autopsy.

Other suspects arrested include: Kenneth Owhonda 18 years, Goodness Smart 18, Dennis Igwe 18, Ibenta Oha 18 ,Idaresit Kpene popularly called “Daddy boy” 20, Favour John, 18 and Mercy Udoh, 43.

Some of the items recovered from the suspects include one AK47 magazine and one pistol.

Some of the suspects who spoke with our Correspondent confessed to the crimes as alleged by the Police, while others denied knowledge of the accusations on them by the Police.
