Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa on Thursday said he did not think Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State would be disappointed because he got the PDP’s Vice Presidential slot ahead of him.

The duo were in fierce contention for the vice presidential slot before Okowa was nominated as running mate to the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Speaking with newsmen, Okowa said Wike is a very strong party man who has great love for the party and that he believed he is also a good democrat.

According to him, “Wike understands that when several brothers are in the race for a particular position, it has to be one person at a point in time.”

“But I want to assure you that Governor Wike is a very good man and his interest for this country and the party is to be able to rise up to the challenge at the moment.

“He is strong and I do not feel that he is going to be disappointed.”
