Moses Armstrong, a Nollywood actor, has been suspended by the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, after he was accused of raping a 16-year-old girl in Akwa Ibom.
Moses was arrested by men of the state police command after a complaint was filed against him.
The president of the guild, Emeka Rollas, who confirmed the arrest, said the matter was being handled by the wife of the Governor of Akwa Ibom, Martha Udom Emmanuel.
In a statement released today, Emeka further described the incident as sad.
He said the allegation was strong and the AGN will allow the law to take its course.
Emeka also confirmed that Moses is now prohibited from acting until the investigation is concluded.
