Mohammed Bello pleads guilty to stealing company’s N1.2m property

An Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State, on Tuesday, remanded Mohammed Bello, who pleaded guilty to stealing a company’s property worth N1.2 million.

Magistrate O. A. Ogbe remanded the defendant pending review of the facts of the case.

He adjourned the case until June 23 for a review of the facts and sentencing.

Earlier, the prosecutor Insp. Adegeshin Famuyiwa told the court that the defendant committed the offense on June 15 at 2.00 p.m. on Offin Oreta Road, Igbogbo area of Ikorodu.

Famuyiwa said that the defendant conspired with others at large, entered the premises of Reuben and Amir Nigeria Ltd., and stole items including two pumping machines, a submersible machine, a stabilizer, and a control switch.

He added that the defendant stole a bag containing irons.

The prosecutor submitted that the stolen items worth N1.2 million.

He said that stealing contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
