Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Wednesday signed peaceful conduct commitment documents ahead of the state’s July 16 governorship election.

He signed and declared his commitment to a violence-free election during his meeting with representatives of the National Democratic Institute and “Vote don’t Fight Foundation” in Osogbo on Wednesday.

According to Oyetola, governance was a call to service and no political ambition was worth the blood of any citizen.

He pledged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would continue to focus its campaigns on issues rather than specific people.

Oyetola reiterated that his administration will continue to give a level playing ground for all the contenders.

The Director-General of the Oyetola Campaign Council, Senator Ajibola Basiru, said the APC was being provoked because its campaign billboards, posters, and banners had been destroyed by suspected political thugs.

Basiru vowed that the party would continue to refrain from defamation campaigns before, during and after the governorship election.
