Ejeviome Otobo, a former Nigerian diplomat who was declared missing on June 15, has been found dead in the U.S.

Otobo, 70, was last seen wearing a blue long-sleeve sweatshirt near Dante Avenue in Tuckahoe, New York.

His remains were found by Tuckahoe Police. The statement issued by Police read “The Tuckahoe Police Department regrets to inform members of the community that Mr Ejeviome Otobo was located yesterday afternoon and is deceased.

Mourning his death, Dr Roselyn Akombe tweeted “Devastated by the passing of a great mentor, writer, governance & peacebuilding expert. You gave Africa your all, Mr Otobo. We fondly called you Headmaster as we worked with @UNDPAfrica on governance. RIP my mentor”.

Until his death, he was a Non-Resident Senior Fellow in Peacebuilding and Global Economic Policy at the Global Governance Institute in Brussels, Belgium.
