Controversial former lawmaker, Dino Melaye has told the Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate, Dr. Peter Obi to wait for his time as he will lose out in 2023.
Melaye, in a video on Youtube on Friday said Obi is a great Nigeria who has the potential of being a great president in the future.
“I celebrate you Peter Obi and I celebrate your movement for a new Nigeria. But I want to advice, your time is not now, because you will have to wait for your time.
“I have listened to your postulation, your argument, I have listened to your delivery and your campaign and I can say that 90 percent of your campaign is reducing the cost of governance,” he said.
Melaye said the problem of this country is beyond just cutting the cost of governance, saying it is less than one percent of the national problem.
“You don’t need to be president before you can cut the cost of governance, if you have a good minister, you can do so. What we need today in Nigeria is to unify this country, Nigeria has never been this divided in our national history, not even the civil war.
“We need one character who has the capacity to unite us as a nation first. Can Peter Obi be trusted by a typical Katsina man or somebody from the northern part of this country? Can he be trusted as an Igbo man by a middle belter? The answer is no, we need one Nigeria who is going to be trusted by all Nigerians and that person is Atiku Abubakar.
“I encourage the movement started by Peter Obi to continue, move from campus to campus and community to community, he should be part of the movement of Atiku Abubakar to rebuild this country. We must speak the truth and the truth is the truth.
“You are one Nigeria I know tomorrow will speak for you. Today, let us forget the social media drama, the diaspora euphoria, the truth of the matter is we need a unifier,” he added.
