Nollywood actress Kemi Afolabi has flown to the United States to begin treatment for her diagnosis of lupus.

Lupus is an incurable disease that occurs when the body’s immune system attacks the tissues and organs.

She disclosed the latest development via her official Instagram page, saying she is receiving treatment at the John Hopkins Hospital in Maryland, United States.

She wrote “I commenced my lupus treatment journey today with @hopkinsmedicine Alihamdulilah. Some beautiful souls made this happen, God bless you all. Wish me luck. #warrior.”

In March 2022, Kemi revealed that her doctor said she has five years to live, out of which she has spent a year.

This sparked concerns from her colleagues and fans. Some donations were made to finance her treatment and upkeep.
