An Edo state High court sitting in Benin presided over by Hon. Justice Efe Ikponmwonba, on Friday remanded seven suspects arrested by the police over their involvement in the recent cult clashes in the metropolis.
Recall that no fewer than eight persons were killed between Wednesday and Thursday, in a resurgence of cult-related clashes in the Edo state capital.
The suspects, Esosa Eregeorowo, Frank Obaze, Ministrer Godwin, Jeremiah Timothy, Jimoh Lasisi, Osasu Idehen and Idehen Marvis were arraigned for conspiracy to commit murder, murder and membership of an unlawful society.
Ruling on an application motion brought by the Prosecutor, the court ordered that the suspects be remanded at the Oko Correctional Centre in Benin City, pending legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Edo State.
