Wike to swear – in 5 commissioners-designate today

The Commissioner-designates were screened and approved for appointment by Rivers State House of Assembly on Friday.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike will today, Saturday, 9th July, 2022, swear-in five commissioners – designate at the Executive Council Chamber of Government House, Port Harcourt by 12pm.

This was announced in a press statement signed by Kelvin Ebiri, the Special Assistant Media to the Rivers State Governor on Friday.

According to him, those to be sworn in as commissioners are: Hon. Boma Iyaye who was also the immediate past Rivers Commissioner for Sports, Hon.Deinma Iyalla, Prof. Prince Chinedu Mmom, Hon. Chris Green and Surv. Burabe Anea-Bari Donald.

The Commissioner-designates were screened and approved for appointment by Rivers State House of Assembly on Friday.

Boma Iyaye, a lawyer, who is now popularly called “Commissioner of Sports emeritus”, because he has held that Ministry from the past administrations in the State back-to-back. He had always survived every dissolution of state executive Council and staged a come back.

Under him, the Rivers United won this year’s Premier league and other laurels in different Sports.
