Shettima lands in Lagos today, unveiling likely in Osogbo

Senator Kashim Shettima the vice-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress is expected in Lagos today to meet Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Shettima was in Maiduguri on Sunday, where he had gone to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir, when he was announced in Daura as the running mate to Tinubu.

He was said to have boarded a plane back to Abuja.

“He will meet Tinubu in Bourdillon today”, said a source close to Tinubu.

“His formal unveiling will likely be in Osun at the mega rally for the governorship campaign.

“Tinubu will represent President Buhari at the rally. All Party officials and governors are expected at the event”, the source added.

Tinubu on Sunday confirmed Shettima as his Vice Presidential candidate.

Tinubu made the announcement to journalists at the Daura residence of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The APC flag bearer arrived Daura Sunday afternoon to pay Sallah homage to President Buhari who arrived his home town on Friday.

Senator Shettima is former Governor of Borno State and a close associate of Tinubu who has been a staunch supporter and campaigner for the choice of Tinubu as the next President of Nigeria.

He toured many states with Tinubu since December 2021 where he addressed party delegates and mobilised support for the former Governor of Lagos State.
