The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke has defeated Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola of the APC to emerge winner of Saturday’s governorship election.
He polled 403,371 votes to win the poll, while his rival, Oyetola, scored 375,027 votes to come second.
Adeleke won in 17 Local Governments, many of them with large majority, while Oyetola won in 13 Local Governments.
Boripe was the only council where Oyetola amassed wide majority, compared to Adeleke, who galloped away in Ede South and North and Osogbo.
The Returning Officer, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe is expected to declare Adeleke winner having polled the majority votes and satisfied the requirement.
