Aregbesola disowns viral Facebook post, blames media team

Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola has now formally disowned the Facebook post, which celebrated the victory of Ademola Adeleke in the Osun governorship election.

The post which culled a verse from Daniel in the Bible, appeared to be a direct jab at the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Titled, Osun Le Tente (Osun victorious), the verse says: “This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.”

The cryptic message suggested that all power belongs to God and not to any man, gloating over Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s defeat.

After the post triggered unsavoury backlash, he pulled it down after one hour.
