The world’s richest man and CEO of Tesla Motors, Elon Musk has debunked claims that he had an affair with Nicole Shanahan, wife of Google’s co-founder, Sergey Brin.
This comes after the Wall Street Journal reported that his friendship with Brin ended over the alleged affair.
Shanahan and Brin have been married for over three years but announced in June they plan to divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
On Twitter, Musk confirmed that he and Brin are still friends and that they attended a party together on Saturday night.
He also said that he has only seen Nicole on two occasions and with many other people present.
When asked what can be done, Musk tweeted “Call them out on it, I guess. WSJ is supposed to have a high standard for journalism and, right now, they are way sub-tabloid.
“WSJ should be running stories that actually matter to their readers and have solid factual basis, not third-party random hearsay.
Continuing in another tweet, “Yeah, the character assassination attacks have reached a new level this year, but the articles are all nothing-burgers.
“I work crazy hours, so there just isn’t much time for shenanigans. None of the key people involved in these alleged wrongdoings were even interviewed!”
