Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has said he was the one who told President Muhammadu Buhari of terrorists’ threat to abduct him and himself.

He said the president was never aware of the threat until he told him last Sunday.

El-Rufai, said he heard about a video where they threatened to abduct Buhari and himself and that he had been warned to be careful including his families.

He wondered how in a country with soldiers, police and Federal Government, some terrorists would be threatening to abduct the president.

According to El-Rufai, in a Radio Programme, monitored by Daily Trust, if it  in was the past, those in government would think this was a joke and that they would see it as only happening in Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna and Niger.

“It’s now at home and we must rise up to deal with these people. This is why I met with the president on Sunday and told him about these problems. I also told him about the video because up to that day he was not even aware.

“I told him and the following day Zamfara state governor, Bello Matawalle, also confirmed to him that he saw the video too so as to take action,” he said.

According to the governor, Buhari assured him that he met with the service chiefs three to four days before their meeting and that he gave them a clear directive to have a comprehensive military operation to deal with those people.

El-Rufai wished the that the soldiers and police that were given the directives would hasten up to finish the job, saying the government should not wait until terrorists struck before responding.
