2023: Atiku, Wike meet behind closed doors in Abuja

The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has met behind closed doors to settle their rift.

The duo had been at loggerhead following the fallout of the PDP’s presidential primary. Wike was also overlooked by Atiku in choosing his running mate.

Atiku chose Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa ahead of Wike as his running mate.

The former vice president, in an interview on Arise TV said he chose the person he felt was better for him.

Wike had lashed out at Atiku, saying his interview on Arise TV was filled with lies and distortion of facts and vowed to let the cat out of the bag.

But on Thursday, the two warring PDP leaders met behind closed doors in Abuja at the residence of a former Minister of Information and National Orientation, Prof. Jerry Gana.

Details of their meeting were unknown, but it might not be unconnected with settling their differences in a bid to make the party stronger in 2023.

The duo were said to have exchanged pleasantries when they met in Abuja. With the meeting, the two PDP leaders may be on their way to resolving their differences.
