The Nigerian Women’s 4x100m relay quartet of Tobi Amusan, Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma and Grace Nwokocha won the gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Sunday.

They also ran a new African record of 4⃣.2⃣.1⃣0⃣s.

The Nwokocha-led quartet has now become the first Nigerian women’s relay team (women’s 4x100m and 4x400m) to win a Commonwealth Games title.

Amusan started the race, gave the baton to Favour Ofili, who passed it on to Rosemary Chukwuma, with
Grace Nwokocha, finishing it off.

Amusan in an earlier race also won the 100m hurdles, creating a new Commonwealth Games record of 12.30s as well.
