NYSC DG advises Corps members to be safety conscious

The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps, Brig- Gen Muhammad Kaku Fadah has advised corps members to be security conscious at all times and avoid acts that can endanger their lives.

Fadah who gave this advise on Tuesday in a nationwide address to mark the closing ceremony of 2022 Batch B Stream 2 orientation exercise listed some of the dangerous acts that Corps members should avoid to include staying out late, attending night parties, visiting dangerous places and taking a ride from strangers’.

Represented in Rivers state by the State Coordinator, Mr. George Mfongang, Gen Fadah assured corps members that “NYSC top Management remains committed to their security and general welfare”.

Speaking further, he noted that the Scheme is in “constant liaison with security agencies and other critical stakeholders to ensure their safety always as well as in addressing other essential needs that will enable them to have a fulfilling service year”.

He expressed “ardent hope that the corps members will strive to meet the expectations of Nigerians by contributing towards the progress and development of the fatherland”.

He concluded by charging the corps members to “sustain the spirit of patriotism, hard work and resilience imbibed at the three weeks orientation exercise”.

A total of 1288 corps members successfully completed the orientation course exercise in Rivers state.
