Rivers Governor Wike and Atiku Abubakar.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has rubbished reports that he sued the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

There have been reports that Wike had sued Atiku, asking the court to declare him the winner of the last PDP’s presidential primary election.

But Wike, on Friday, distanced himself from any suit, saying he never dragged Atiku to court over the last party’s presidential primary election.

The governor spoke during the inauguration of Rivers State House of Assembly Quarters in Port Harcourt.

According to him, “I did not ask anyone to file any suit for me…I don’t know the lawyers”. I am not a kid to be filing a suit at this time.

“I had 14 days after the primaries within which to have filed any suit. I didn’t do that then, is it two months after primaries I will file a suit?”

Wike, however, said those hanging around Atiku were working for his failure at the poll.

There have been running battle between the governor and Atiku, over the way he was treated at the primary election and the selection of a the party’s vice presidential candidate.
