Nigeria’s Falconets on Sunday night defeated South Korea 1-0 in the ongoing FIFA Under-20 female World Cup in Costa Rica.
The Falconets, now with six points are leading Group C and have qualified for the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Esther Onyenezide was the heroine of the match with a superb strike on 83 minutes.
The match had been goalless until the 83th minute when she unleashed a shot from outside the 18-yard box that beat the goalkeeper.
Her goal which won the match for the Nigerian side also earned her the player of the match.
The Nigerian side had earlier, in their first match defeated France by a lone goal in the dying minute of the game.
The Falconets will now play Canada in their last game on August 18.
